I'm pleased to have had three submissions accepted into the annual SDAG juried show "Oil & Water". The show runs from July 22nd to August 29th and my painting entitled "Serenity" was awarded the Opus Merchandise Award which was nice. I can now go shopping at Opus for free !

Since I was not too successful in selling my jewelry at the outdoor venues I will not be making any more for a while. I have not painted for almost a year and I'm looking forward to picking up the paint brushes again. I enjoyed making the jewelry but have rather a lot of it on hand and am finding it difficult to sell. I am currently experimenting with collaging which I have done a bit of before but would like to try some new techniques and see what kind of results ensue. I have acquired LOTS of stuff so this is a good way to utilize some of it and hopefully come up with some interesting pieces.

Today I had the pleasure of hanging 13 of my paintings in Ingrid's on Twelfth Hair Salon. This is one of finest and busiest salons in the area and is located at 5447 12th Avenue in Tsawwassen. All paintings are for sale through the salon which has turned out to be a great venue for my work. They look almost as good at Ingrid's as they did on my own walls !! This also gives me some empty walls at home to fill up, I just can't stand to see empty spaces where there could be a painting !

I'm loving the summer and my daily walks with Sophie but I have to to admit the extreme heat is a bit much for both of us. She's got all the fur and I've got the hot flashes so we try to stay out of the noon day sun - not like mad dogs and Englishmen ......

I still volunteer at the Federation Gallery on Granville Island and have also joined the Richmond Artists Guild. I have had to cut back a lot with my volunteer work due to health issues but I so much enjoy my time at the Federation that I will continue there. It keeps me in the loop and also gets me down to Granville Island which I love especially in the summer.

For those first-time visitors to my website I have had some pieces scanned so there are prints available which are considerably more reasonable and the quality is excellent. I can have them reproduced on canvas or on paper so if there are any paintings that you are interested in and it says SOLD please e-mail me as I may have had it scanned and can then get you a print of it. A lot of the jewelry that is currently on the site has sold but if you are interested in a particular piece please contact me and I can always make something similar for you.
